Boys sure are different...

Just today, I was reminded of that fact by the insanity (according to me, a female!) of Isaac's actions.... He belly-flopped off the couch, then seemed genuinely suprised that it hurt. He took one look at his sister, then took off running... with her shoe. He doesn't just play with toys... he takes them apart. And consequently gets mad when they don't work. :-) Such fun!

Melia's Created a Monster

She introduced Isaac to the joys of "jelly-toast." He eats it as though it might disappear at any moment, two whole pieces in one sitting!

So Hard

It's so hard not to get depressed that Gabe had to cancel his suprise overnight plans for my birthday because the kids aren't well.

So so hard.

Playing Kitties in the Back of the Van

Today... while in the Sonic Drive-Thru (during happy hour of course!).... the girls are playing kitties. Melia's the kitty, Kiera's the owner.

Kiera: Yes, I'd like a milk slushy, with cat food in it please. And a popsicle slushy too. Thank you.
Melia: meow?
Kiera: Yep, she'll be right out. Good kitty.

Busy in the Kitchen!

Today we've made cookies for Papa Tim (extra healthy :-), biscuits, and monkey bread.

While making the monkey bread, Kiera asked if she could lick her hands when she was done. I said yes, and she says, "Good, cause my fingers look SOOO yummy!"

Melia's Future Plans

After visiting the dentist (again) for her lastest cavities... (again- this made EIGHT- but that's the last of them- on her BABY teeth...)

Melia: I'm just so confused about what to do.
Me: What do you mean?
Her: Well, I really want to be a dentist. But there's three things I really want to do. I want to work at Costco. AND I want to have an animal shelter.
Me: It takes several years of college to become a dentist. You could think about being one of those girls who helps the dentist, like a hygienist or an assistant, because lots of them only work part time, like mommy does.
Her: Ooooh, that's a good idea. 'Cause then I could spend more time with my kids. Plus it would be good when I'm pregnant because sometimes that really hurts.

(Me-thinking: how do you know? :-)

Later...
Melia: I really don't want to go to college.
Me: Why?
Her: I don't want to go away.
My heart smiles :-)

This kid just won't give my heart a break. She has such a sweet spirit... most of the time. Until Kiera stomps on her a little. Then she's not quite as sweet.

Danger Danger... Isaac's got a softball...

Isaac's been playing a bit with a real softball... first we rolled it across the ground..

Then he threw it at the fireplace...

Then he chucked it at my head, point blank, nailing me in the forehead.
(Instant migraine I tell ya!)
(And yes, Daddy got a little upset about that... :-)

Before I forget...

This evening, the kids and I headed to Moses Lake for Shaun's annual B-day bowling bash. This was our first time, so they were SUPER excited! Every town we came to, Kiera asked if this was it... then if not, which town this was... When we finally got to the right town, she asked the name, to which I answered "Moses Lake." She says, "OH! This is where Moses' Ark is!"

At some point on the trip, Kiera responded to something that was said with "Ugh. That makes me nauseous."
Melia says, "What does nauseous mean?"
:-)

I'll post a link when Andrea posts her pictures of bowling. Isaac threw SEVERAL screaming fits because he wanted to bowl too. So that's my excuse for my lousy scores... At least half the time, I was bowling with him on my hip :-) It made me feel better when everyone said he was SO heavy... That makes me not a wimp, right?

Grapefruit Results

Well, you can see how you all voted over on the side :-) Isaac had the overwhelming win, which is not terribly suprising...

But the truth is, they all liked it :-) Even Gabe tried a piece and said it was ok, so he deserves a half vote. But all the kids liked it so much that I bought a box of those red grapefruit cups at Costco... and have been having to say "no" to the constant begging ever since.

I Totally Made Their Day...

Total I swung the cereal deal at Top Foods (read all about it here!) and picked up 11 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios, Trix and Lucky Charms for $6.15, plus another 4 Cinnamon Burst Cheerios at Safeway for $.98! It would have been even better, but I messed up a transaction :-) Oops!

But boy, when the kids saw all the cereal (Gabe was awesome and let me go shopping without them!)- their faces were the best ever! Both Melia and Kiera had open jaw syndrome, and Isaac started laughing and rolling around on the floor! I only bought 4 total of the Lucky Charms and Trix... mostly cheerios, but everybody had their day made! :-)

Another amazing deal at Top... Old Orchard frozen Juice blends (100%) for $.24 each!

Cleanse and Leftovers

I did another liver/gall bladder cleanse, and I think it went well. I was feeling pretty down, so that made it harder... but now that it's done I'm hoping that the stomach pain I'd been feeling the past few days will stop. Every time I'd eat, I'd feel like curling up in a ball, or stretching out backwards to try to get away from the pain... So then I'd just not eat, and that's always so helpful for a hypoglycemic leaning person...

Anyways, I had Gabe stop at the store for the grapefruits I didn't have on hand, and he picked out the most beautiful juicy ones... which meant I only needed one for the cleanse, and had one left over! We ate it yesterday and this morning, making sure everyone had a chance to try it's lovely goodness! I was eager to see who would react positively, and who negatively to the suprise bite it held-- so I added a poll to see who you think would have liked the sweet&sourness of grapefruit! Vote for as many as you'd like... but it's only going for two days, so don't forget!

Do YOU like grapefruit? And how do you eat it? It sparked interesting discussions about who taught me how to eat grapefruit...
