This morning I told Isaac to go get his sandals so I could help him put them on. He hem-hawed around, then told me to "go get them."
I looked at him and said, "Are you obeying Momma?"
He looked at me and smiled a sweet smile, "You go get them please Mom?"
(And yes, I did make him go get his own sandals...!)

Isaac's Clothing Pickiness
Normally, I let Isaac have some say in what clothes he wears for the day. He is very opinionated about what he's going to wear, and while I will let him choose some things, Gabe doesn't let him at all :-)
Wednesday however, I was picking things out because we were headed to CoOp, and I like him to at least match. I had his overalls, and picked out a short-sleeved red shirt to go under. He starts right in with "Me no like that shirt. Me no want that shirt. It too small."
I said, "No it's not. Here, put it on and see that it fits just fine," and proceeded to put it on him. He immediately started pulling at the short sleeves, again telling me that it was too small. Pretty soon, I clued in to the fact that he's saying he wants long sleeves instead of short sleeves. So I picked out a red long sleeved shirt- it was a win-win! :-)

An Isaac Lesson
If Isaac goes without a nap, he will sleep for 12 hours straight.
However, if he crashes on his own at 5:45 pm, guess what time he'll be up in the morning?
Yep. Me too. Ugh....

Video Game Portraits
Isaac did this all on his own... Which was hilarious because he looked so much like his Daddy with the headphones and video game controller (except, Gabe pointed out when I posted it on FB, that Gabe does NOT sit on the couch in his underwear- Just clarifying!)
And of course, when I HAD to take his picture, then I absolutely HAD to take everyone else's picture too.
And I'm glad I did, cause they turned out pretty cute too!

Isaac's Artistic Talent
I am thankful the toothpaste is peppermint flavored... otherwise who knows how much he'd have eaten! But he came running to me saying his tongue was "HOT!"
Isaac, practicing his cutting skills with monkey scissors :-)

Hairdryer... or?
Isaac brought me a Polly Pocket hairdryer this morning, saying, "Boom Boom Gun! Boom Boom Boom! Boom Boom Gun!"
I tried to reason with him, but he knows nothing of hairdryers, so there was no convincing him of it's true identity. Maybe it's a undercover gun...

Melia Without Training Wheels, Isaac Rides His Bike
Monday night, the girls wanted to ride. Isaac amazingly also wanted to ride. I say amazingly because before now, he's ridden a little bit in the yard, but didn't really care about it. Oh, but now! Bike riding has become VERY SERIOUS. He stoicly rides along. The smiles in these pictures are only because he was being photographed- they are not due to his "having fun."
Esther and Kerzon getting in on the fun :-)
What?? Off-roading already?
We decided it was time... Time to take off the training wheels. Monday night with Daddy was full of lots of frustration, lack of balance, and heavy huffing and puffing.
But Tuesday and Wednesday, she got the hang of it and was cruising around like she'd been doing it for weeks! (The hardest part is getting started!)
Even after a crash, she's all smiles!
(Note: There's no pictures of Kiera because she wasn't on her bike at this time. She was in time out because she rode on the road before Mommy got outside, even after being reminded by Sissy... Lots of tears, but an important lesson!)

Issac's Funny Faces
I had the camera one day last week and Isaac came up to me and wanted me to take his picture. Then he wanted to see the picture. Then he made another face, and so on and so forth. We were both giggling uncontrollably by the time he ran out of faces, and I just had to share :-) I wish he didn't have food on his face, but during the season of fresh fruit and veggies, this kid just doesn't stop eating! Enjoy!
