So, Gabe and I have been talking. He came up with the idea of leaving an unloaded G u n in the middle of the room, and seeing what happened. (Our goal is to teach a fear/respect of fire arms)
Earlier this week, we were in the kitchen and he sent Kiera on a menial task to her room. I wondered what was going on, especially when he chuckled. Then he sent Melia to put something away. She trots through the living room, almost to her bedroom, then jumps around and screams, "AAhhh! G U N! Daddy- G U N!" I could not control my laughter, as she had passed it by 10 feet before the red light in her head went off :-) So funny, as this is just how she is. On top of whatever, but may be running a little late!
And, for the record, Kiera saw it and gave it a wide berth, but didn't follow through on the "Tell Daddy or Mommy right away if you see a g u n" rule. Good exercise though. I appreciate Gabe taking the time to follow through on those rules, especially when I just want them all locked up and out of sight- he does a better job of training in this regard than I do!

Works of Art
Somehow I came up with the idea to take pictures of many of the girls creations, instead of trying to save all of them. I am pleased with this; I can save their creativity without completely breaking their hearts when things have to "disappear." Plus, I get to share them here! :-)
These two are Kiera's. I think they are of the waterslides, because that's what Melia was painting.

KIERA!!!
I had to laugh out loud at this one...
Kiera: (writes something illegible on whiteboard) What does this spell Sissy?
Melia: That doesn't spell anything Kiera.
Kiera: (writes something else) What does this spell Sissy?
Melia: Oval!
Kiera: That's right!
Melia: KIERA! Two M's do not spell Oval!
(Kiera had drawn an oval, then put two m's in the middle. She's smart, that one. *grin*)

Yay, It's so close!
Our annual SP Conference getaway weekend is almost here! I just wish it wasn't at the end of hunting season! I booked our hotel today, via priceline... The conference is at the Coeur'd'Alene resort, (and it would be soo nice!) but when I can get a nice enough hotel with free breakfast for two nights cheaper than one night at the resort with no breakfast... I guess I just can't turn off that frugal streak!
I'm so excited- for both the "getaway" and the conference!

Blessing of Prayer
I have a neat experience to share. This Sunday, Gabe and I were in Sunday school, probably at about 10:15 am. Gabe received a text from our friend asking if he was at home, and if he had a tow strap. He was on his way to church, but was being called to rescue someone whose car had died. We'd been praying for this friend alot lately (in addition to the last 15+ years) and he's really been responding in amazing ways to the Lord. It struck us immediately as warfare.
Gabe texted him back, saying "no, we're at church, but we'll sit in the back so you can come in late." After Sunday school (15 minutes later) we were in the nursery, checking on Isaac. I told Gabe- I really think we should pray. So we did, identifying the warfare and praying that God would enable our friend to make it to church so he'd get to experience worship and teaching.
Not 5 minutes later, he walked in the door, in plenty of time! I can't explain it- his story and the distance he traveled would never fit into 20 minutes. But I do know that we needed to pray for God's protection and victory over this situation, and with my own eyes saw what I would believe was a miracle. Awesome He is, and how wonderfully He pursues us! AMEN!!!

Meet Esther
I just hope Isaac doesn't beat her too much. His new fun is running around hitting anything living, saying "Ow! Ow! Ow!"
He's great. She's great. We're great. I just need a clean house, and I'll be great too. :-)
Oh, yea, and we're in the car on the way home talking about litter boxes. It went something like this:
Kiera: What's a litter box?
Me: It's for kitties to go potty in.
Melia: And poop.
Kiera: And diarrhea.
:-)

Prayer Request
For those of you who read this, will you please pray for me? I am feeling very overwhelmed lately; from cleaning the house to yard work to making sure school gets done, I just feel like something has to give, and I'm not sure what it is. Gabe and I have discussed it, but we haven't found a conclusion or plan yet.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Another heart melting conversation...
The girls are standing at the table, watching our praying mantis eat a spider while a bombadier beetle crawls around the jar.
Kiera: Is that stinkbug going to stink her?
Melia: No. When stinkbugs are going to stink, they go like this. (bends over and sticks her hiney in the air) They stick their stinker up.
