And, changing subjects yet again....

I just bought "Anti-Cancer: A New Way of Life" by David Servan-Schreiber MD PHD.

Anybody heard of it or read it?

I've been looking at it for a few weeks at work, and finally decided that I needed to get it. From the jacket, it sounds more like what I personally believe about fighting cancer--More from the preventative, health-centered approach than the "cure the disease" side. But we'll see what it says, especially in regards to genetic mutations.

My dad was telling me about some stuff this weekend(vitamins, I believe) that he takes to prevent getting cancer. I'll have to ask him again what it's called since I can't remember and get you the info on it.

He's all about natural healing, taking vitamins to cure anything and everything and found the D-Mannose (sp) that I now take to prevent the all too often UTI's I was getting.

So this vitamin, I belive he said that if taken regularly, is suppose to help prevent you getting cancer? And people have even taken it in a lot higher dose to rid of cancer they had.

There's a few reviews of this book over at Amazon.com, and I thought the one from Publishers Weekly was fairly balanced. Whatever you do, always stay skeptical - there are plenty of writers out there who have figured out that they can get rich quicker by writing what people want to hear, rather than by writing about things that can actually be proven.
