Tonight I introduced my daughters to probably one of the most significantly traditional meals in my family. Right up there with Grandma Bryant's green beans, Grandma Elliott's biscuits and gravy, Pancakes and Peanut Butter, Haystacks (aka..wet..), remind me of any I am forgetting.
But this one is special. It goes along with Colonel Sanders Chicken Littles and Bubble Gum ice cream at the mall, where Shaun always never ever finished his, even though he promised he could. :-) Fond memories.
Anywho- my traditional meal.
It's called Ma's Soup.
You take ramen noodles, cook 'em real good with the seasoning, then drain all the juice out- Yum yum yum!!! I bet Ma had a blast watching from heaven as her two little great-great granddaughters chow down on their noodles. And I wonder if my siblings and I were as hilarious to watch as my kiddos... :-)

I don't remember draining all the liquid out, did ma do that? You kids did love that meal, haha mom
Don't you remember Mom? :-) We didn't like it when you made it because for some reason it was different! I figured it out later, that there barely any juice in it, more like just noodles than soup! That's what made it Ma's Soup! :-)
k so I totally dont remember that! :P LOL But I do remember the other stuff you were saying.. I loved chicken littles!!!! and Shaun and I always got bubble gum ice cream and you always got rocky road.. ? right:) I would alway sneak into her kitchen and get into the sugar under the sink! lol hahahha GOOD TIMES
I never had Ma's soup, She fed us a bowl of milk and crackers when we were young for lunch. It sounds funny now to think we would put the milk in a bowl and eat it with a spoon, but I think it was because some people would crumble their crackers into the milk, but I didn't like it that way. I would always eat my crackers on the side with a spoonful of milk. Actually I don't crumble my crackers in soup either. The crackers were either soda or graham crackers. Ask your Dad if he remembers eating that for lunch at Ma's.
Like Darcy i dont recall the soup so much, i can kinda picture it but remember the bubble gum ice cream that i knew i could finish. And how very sad i was when they didnt have that flavor when we went. I still crave chicken littles...
