I liked this...

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."-- Robert A. Heinlein

I know, sounds like it belongs on a Man's Blog :-)

But it gives me ideas for homeschooling, if not for my own furthering education!

That's always been one of my favorite quotes, too! I think I first saw it on a co-worker's desk, and thought that it would be a good checklist of things to be learning and practicing. Except the part about dying gallantly, maybe.
